Sex Discrimination, Redundancies and Immigration - It’s all change for Britain’s Employment Law Legislation!

Changes to the Sex Discrimination Laws opened the discussions at Maine-Tucker Recruitment’s second Employment Law Forum for 2008. Since the amendments to the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 came into force on April 1st, our clients returned to hear the latest reforms and how it affects their business.

After a short break, delegates were split into two workshops to discuss two key topics:-

  • Best practice and Commercial Reality - Business Reorganisation and Redundancies
  • New Immigration Rules regarding new employees and transferring employees into the UK

The session was kept to a fast paced and interactive format. The legal language was simplified, and the attendees were encouraged to relate the issues to current situations in their company. The diverse views and experiences brought depth to the discussion.
