ANNUAL SALARY SURVEY 2008
MARKET UNCERTAINTY KEEPS SALARIES STAGNANT
In comparison to the considerable growth of 2006, there was little movement in salaries last year, perhaps in anticipation of the jittery market conditions. Salaries throughout 2007 remained largely the same, with a negligible 1.5% increase across the board, which is less than inflation.
Average salaries across all sectors ranged from £15,000 for Administrators through to £50,000 for top Executive Support roles.
Maine-Tucker’s 2008 Salary Survey is now available, and is compiled from records of all the vacancies we worked on throughout 2007, and discussions with a cross section of our clients and candidates. “In 2007 salaries remained stable, however we continue to witness a candidate driven market, proving that the demand for excellence and reliability of support staff continues to be of paramount importance. This undoubtedly outweighs the current pressures on businesses to reduce costs. Support staff run the back office and without them businesses would grind to a halt.” Maine-Tucker’s Managing Director Meeta Sahni. Here are some of the highlights of our Salary Survey:-
