Secretaries who work in the legal world are very special, they have to excel at typing and be able to produce documents that can contain very technical legal jargon fast! Typing errors are more than just typing errors in legal documents they can change legal meanings and so accurate typing is paramount.
Lawyers are demanding bosses, many of them work under huge workloads and impossible deadlines. Legal secretaries need a cool head and a calm disposition under pressure. Legal secretaries who work directly for Partners and Associates are often more “legally aware” than non-legal secretaries. They know they have to be careful and highly professional on the telephone when making arrangements; again a thoughtless comment could impact on the outcome of a case.
A legal secretary has to have outstanding integrity and be someone who is completely trusted by her firm. In face some legal cases attract press attention and everyone who works for a legal firm must be prepared to keep information confidential.
Secretaries who work in chambers for barrister groups are different again in that often they will not work for a specific boss or even a group. They are part of a team providing the typing service to the whole of chambers, this technically could be up to 100 people.
Lawyers in particular will appreciate Maine-Tucker’s three month 100% quality refund guarantee, they will immediately see that this is a watertight contract that we have to stick to and that it offers a massive advantage to our legal clients.
If you would like to discuss a possible brief for a legal secretary please don’t hesitate to call our Managing Director, Meeta Sahni on 020 734 7341 or email her at
