So what’s the alternative to a traditional hourly based temp?

Did you know that there are three other ways to add extra staff to your business on a temporary basis?  These are extremely popular with our Clients just now, because they provide the extra manpower with a great deal less hassle and cost.  Legal drudgery is kept to a minimum and Clients have access to a flexible manpower resource!

You could hire one of our Contract temps?

We find Clients tend to use these for Maternity cover, sabbaticals or project cover situations.  The beauty of this is that you can book one for any number of months – sometimes new Mums want six months, some need twelve months.  But whatever happens you know that we will take responsibility for making sure you have that all important cover and that it will end when you want it to end!  The icing on the cake here is that it is cheaper than paying an hourly temp rate and of course from a cash-flow point of view we can stagger the payments to assist you.

You could also use our Temp-to-Perm service?

We understand that some Clients just like to take a long hard look at people close up before they finally hire.  So the idea here is that we will find you a temp and then you can try them out for as long as you like.  If you like you hire.  Meanwhile the position is covered by a top Maine-Tucker Temp. 

We have a lot of Clients who prefer this route and we understand this.  On the financial side the obvious advantage is that you are 100% happy with your new employee and feel secure paying our fee because you have tried them out in your own office. 

But there is a further plus to doing it this way and that is this:  according to how long they have temped with you we will discount the actual Temp-to-perm fee when you are actually at the point of the hire.  We’re a pretty decent sort of company so the odds are if you end up trying them for a long time we won’t charge you much (if at all!).

If space in your office is an issue or budgets are really tight just now, why not consider hiring a Maine-Tucker Virtual Assistant?

Actually they don’t have to be an Assistant; they could be a Secretary (looking after confidential matters), a PA, an Administrator or a Credit Controller, you name it.  But the big thing here is that you won’t need to have them based in your office, or even on your payroll because we will situate them at Maine-Tucker’s office and we will sort all that payroll admin out for you.  It gets even better!  Because they are based in our offices, the price goes down again!  The Virtual Assistant is usually charged on an hourly basis but they work solely for you and of course you can chop them off at an hour’s notice if you need to.
